The Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC) and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) recently forged a new partnership to enhance Ag Career Days in 2016. The new partnership will enrich the overall student experience in agricultural career pathways, while providing strategic growth opportunies for this exceptional, on farm career exploration event.

KCEDC launched Ag Career Days in 2012 at Pagel’s Ponderosa Dairy. The career exploration event began serving 7th and 8th grade students from four school districts in Kewaunee and Door Counties. KCEDC Ag Career Days has expanded to include five school districts serving more than 900 7th and 8th grade students over the two days of programming. With opportunities to explore a wide-range of careers in agriculture, Ag Career Days helps area students begin to identify how their interests relate to potential future careers. The successful Ag career exploration event is recognized nation-wide.

Aligning with NWTC, brings innovation in education and the opportunity to impact more students. KCEDC | NWTC 2016 Ag Career Days plans to showcase a variety of careers including; agronomy, milk testing, cheese making, cropping, animal nutrition, agriculture support services, robotics and technology and many more. The career exploration event will be hosted at Pagel’s Ponderosa on April 21st and 22nd and will continue to serve 7th and 8th grade students from Kewaunee County and the surrounding area.
