The Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC), Kewaunee County’s three school districts and the Northeast WI Manufacturing Alliance (NEWMA) are thrilled to announce the first Kewaunee County Manufacturing Career Day hosted by D&S Machine Service, Inc. (412 4th St, Luxemburg) and N.E.W. Plastics Corporation (112 4th St, Luxemburg) ds-machine
on October 24, 2016. Nearly 300 ninth grade students from Algoma, Kewaunee and Luxemburg-Casco School Districts will participate in this informative manufacturing career exploration event. Kewaunee County Manufacturing Career Day will offer an enriching student experience in manufacturing career pathways, while emphasizing the important role of the manufacturing industry in our local and national economy.

Kewaunee County Manufacturing Career Day will allow students to explore four manufacturing operations including D&S Machine Service, Inc. (manufacturing and fabrication facilities) and N.E.W. Plastics Corporation (RENEW Plastics). A variety of career paths will be showcased including; robotics, engineering, operations, design, support services, production and many more. With opportunities to explore a wide-range of careers in plastics and metals manufacturing, Manufacturing Career Day will helps area students begin to identify how their interests relate to potential future careers. The informative day will include demonstrations and lunch sponsored by D&S Machine Service, Inc. and N.E.W. Plastics Corporation. NEWMA will also sponsor student transportation.
