At the Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC) Annual Dinner & Buy Local Awards Celebration on March 8th, KCEDC recognized two deserving community members for their leadership with KCEDC.

Karen Treml, Kewaunee School District Administrator was presented with the 2016 Vocal Local Award. The award celebrates an individual, organization or business for embracing the principles of the Kewaunee County Buy Local Initiative; improving the quality of life through strengthening local businesses, improving job opportunities and keeping our dollars local.

Scott Bortolini, owner of Cornerstone Appraisal was recognized for his six-year tenure on the KCEDC Board of Directors. Scott lead the organization when the community was navigating the complexities of the Kewaunee Power Station closure.  During Scott’s tenure, Cornerstone Appraisal grew into a new facility and doubled in employment.

KCEDC’s Annual Dinner also featured Kewaunee County Farm Technology Days Host Farm, Ebert Enterprises. Randy and Renee Ebert offered insight into how their farm and family has evolved with the planning Farm Tech Days. They emphasized that the event is not only a family event, but a community event. Both Randy and Renee are overwhelmed and honored at the outpouring of support from the community. Learn more at www.wifarmtechnologydays.com/kewaunee/
