Kewaunee County is only moderately urbanized. About one-third of the population resides in two urban centers, Algoma and Kewaunee. The village of Luxemburg is rapidly becoming a third urban center in the county. The county population density of 58 persons per square mile (in 1995), is well above what would be considered typical of Wisconsin agricultural counties.
