The Kewaunee county Economic Development Corporation (KCEDC) and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) are pleased to announce the return of Ag Career Days on Oct 17 and 18, 2018 at Kinnard Farms. Seventh, eighth, and nineth grade students from Algoma, Denmark, Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, and Southern Door school districts will participate in this exciting two-day on farm career exploration event. KCEDC and NWTC remain committed to offering an enriching student experience in agricultural career pathways, while reaffirming the significant role the agriculture industry plays in our local and national economy.

KCEDC | NWTC 2018 Ag Career Days will showcase a variety of careers including; agronomy, milk testing, cheese making, cropping, animal nutrition, agriculture support services, robotics, business management, technology and many more. With opportunities to explore a wide-range of careers found in the agricultural field, Ag Career Days helps area students begin to identify how their interests relate to potential future careers. The informative 2-day event also includes a tour of Kinnard Farms.

This is the first time Kinnard Farms has hosted the event. Jackie Kinnard-Stewart said, “We want to expose students to a variety of careers in agriculture and are thrilled to host the event this year.”

“NWTC is excited to continue to support Ag Career Days,” said Sarah Nelson, NWTC Regional Manager. “Making the connection between local careers and local education – both K-12 and post-secondary – will serve this county well.”

“KCEDC is committed to Ag Career Days and the opportunity to introduce future talent to a growing industry. We’re excited by the support the agricultural community has continued to show for this event.” Lynn Kroll, KCEDC Board spokesperson shared.
