Algoma, Wisconsin: Millie’s Pub and Grub and the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of this new business on November 23, 2021.

Ken Weinaug, Executive Director of the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Millie’s owners Megan Lautenbach and Aaron Thornton to the Algoma business community and welcomed the reopening of a well-known Algoma location. He noted the need for an additional restaurant location in the downtown area and the need for a mid-week dining location. He stated that all of the reviews, including his own, were positive during the first few weeks and looked forward to the success of the business venture.

Megan followed with thanks for the many people that helped get Millie’s up and running and gave a brief history of how the business came to be.

During his remarks, Aaron noted the desire and need to work with as many local merchants as possible during the renovation process and business development saying, “Many people gave valuable input in what they felt we needed to offer here at the bar. We are a place for not only tourists, but a year-round location for the people of Algoma.”

The event culminated in a formal ribbon cutting conducted by Megan in front of a packed house with family and members of the Algoma Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors observing.
